Networking anyone?
Okay, so today is a busy day for Networking
First up was the Viva Business Networking event in St Albans followed by the launch of the Hertfordshire Business Awards in Hatfield.
Personally, I always really enjoy the Viva Business Networking events. They are professional, fun, informative and you get the opportunity to network with some really inspirational local business owners.
The St Albans group is hosted by the lovely Mel Dowie, owner of Longtail Management Services (provides Bookkeepers for businesses in Herts, Beds and Bucks) at Sopwell House in St Albans (great venue choice). Mel is a warm and friendly host who ensures that all of her visitors and guests get the most out of their networking. Also present was the wonderful Debbie Gilbert, owner of Viva Networking - so visitors got a double whammy from the Viva team.
The speaker was Social Media Training expert Ivor Kellock of TrainLeaders - who gave an interesting presentation with great videos and a new perspective on what social media can achieve (although in my case he was preaching to the converted). Great to meet you Ivor - I look forward to our one2one.
The member spotlight this week was from Isobel Bradley, who is an independent distributor of Neways products. It was lovely to hear about Isobel's journey to how she started selling Neways products - which are completely organic and do not harm the environment. She has an amazing knowledge and passion for her business and her enthusiasm is quite catching.
Great to see so many local business owners such as Alison McCormack (Freedom Health & Beauty); Lorna Evans (Time for You Coaching); Nigel Taylor (Seddon Smith) and Kathy Andiyapan (Utilities Warehouse), to name but a few.
All in all, a really worthwhile event.
