I Was There!

As a general rule I avoid reunions, you know the sort of thing I mean. The class of whatever meet years afterwards and exchanges news, reminiscences and anecdotes, most of which don’t coincide with your own memory of events. Erstwhile classmates you haven’t seen for ages remind you of embarrassing moments you hoped everyone had forgotten.

Nooo not more paper.....

Why is it that I always seem to be swamped by paper at home? Every time I convince myself I have got on top of it all, the paper mountain just seems to appear again out of nowhere and it just keeps on growing. The more I accumulate, the less I seem to know what to do with it. There are times where it threatens to overwhelm me and it leaves me feeling really stressed out.  Due to the threat of identity theft I seem to spend a lot of time shredding paper in a home shredder a sheet at a time and organisation seems to be getting out of control. &nbsp

A fabulous holiday location.....

There are many things I love about Autumn especially this year as there have been some beautiful sunny days with a light, fresh breeze and the colours from the trees: the reds, yellows ard browns are just lovely. But on the downside, now the clocks have gone back, it is getting colder and darker, the days are gradually getting shorter, and we now begin the descent into Winter. My thoughts are starting to wander back to my previous holidays in warmer climes.

Surely it can't be this difficult....

Online banking and ATMs do make our lives easier but what happens when one or other of these facilities is closed to us?

What you see …ain’t what you get.

I, along with about eight million others watched “Question Time” on Thursday evening. I’m not quite sure what I expected to see but the billing and the “Will they won’t they,” hype ensured that I would be glued to the telly in anticipation of what might happen. I suppose I had an image of an embarrassed Nick Griffin being taken to task by intelligent questioning, comment, observation and argument.

The Same to you.

I’ve always thought that marketing and advertising was about highlighting the differences and stressing the benefits of all that was on offer. I can’t help wondering if all that has changed or if I was simply wrong in the first place. Is it my imagination or are things becoming a bit samey? I know the observation has been made before but even I have noticed the changes in our lifestyle now.

Think it out again!

The last of the Political Party Conferences finished this week. No, don’t move on to another site, this isn’t a party political diatribe. I watched the ‘performances’ of the major speakers from all the parties, listened to their thoughts, ideas and plans… Which for me is unusual… Like most people these days I find politicians an unattractive and uninspiring lot.

Free For All

So, “The Sun” has announced it’s intention to support the Conservative Party at the next General Election, “The London Evening Standard” has announced that it is to be distributed free throughout it’s circulation area and Boris has appeared in East Enders, quite a week, one way and another! All three events could be seen as examples of the media creating their own news. But these unconnected events could be much more important than they seem at first sight.

A credible alternative.....

This morning I attended a 4Networking meeting in Saffron Walden where the presentation was given by John Parker from Network Marketing Business Coach. Network Marketing has often received a bad press in the past and has on occasion perceived to be a bit of a scam. However John gave a witty and informative talk on what it takes to make a success of network marketing and which scheme may or may not be the one for each individual. It was a refreshing change to hear a clear, down to
